If you’re currently watching The White Lotus season 2, you’re probably simultaneously searching for flights to Sicily thanks to its breathtaking scenery. Yes, those filming locations are real — and yes, you can visit them.

Where Is the Real Hotel from ‘The White Lotus’ Season 2?

Did you know that both seasons of The White Lotus have been filmed at the same luxury hotel chain? The island paradise from The White Lotus season 1 was actually Four Seasons Maui, and for its second season the HBO series chose San Domenica Palace in Taormina — also a Four Seasons property.

San Domenica Palace is a 14th-century convent converted to luxury accommodation, and features panoramic views of Mount Etna and the ancient Greek theatre in Sicily, plus an infinity pool overlooking the Ionian Sea. If you’ve watched episode 2, you’ll have spotted that incredible view as guests dine for breakfast overlooking the ocean.

What Other Filming Locations Are in ‘The White Lotus’ Season 2?

Aside from San Domenico Palace in Taormina, filming took place at various locations around Sicily. The quaint town of Noto is one of these locations — described as “Sicily’s hidden gem” by Conde Nast Traveller — is a particular highlight. Destroyed by an earthquake in 1693, it features Baroque town planning and architecture, and is known for its main thoroughfare, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, and its beautiful piazzas.

Filming also took place in Palermo, on the other side of Sicily. The cultural and tourist capital of the island, it is filled with renowned restaurants and historic buildings, as well as a hub of nightlife. COVID-19 restrictions initially limited filming locations, but eventually some scenes were shot in Rome as well.

Most footage, however, is in and around the San Domenico Palace, so if you’re looking to immerse yourself in The White Lotus lifestyle (minus the underlying tensions and possible murders), your best bet is to book a room.
