An experiment based on sight and instinct has determined the top 10 cities to visit in autumn, and Italy boasts 2 of them!
Autumn enthusiasts know it well: it’s a magical season. But where to go to fully enjoy the colors and temperatures of fall? Premier Inn conducted a “scientific” experiment to discover the most beautiful cities to visit in autumn, immersing themselves in the flavors, tones, and scents of the season, foliage, pumpkins, and chestnuts.
**Why Feeling Sad in Fall is Normal**
How was the ranking done?
To find out, Premier Inn selected 60 cities from Europe, the UK, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, South America, Asia, and the Middle East and showed autumnal images of these cities to 30 participants in the study.
Each of them simply looked at the photos of the autumnal version of these 60 cities while software monitored the movement of their eyes, recording, in seconds, the time spent on each image.
This created a ranking that reveals which cities to visit in autumn because they showcase their best: the ones where, instinctively, the gaze lingers longer on the photos.
