Portraying former First Ladies Michelle Obama, Eleanor Roosevelt and Betty Ford in Showtime’s new series, The First Lady, actresses Viola Davis, Gillian Anderson and Michelle Pfeiffer all stepped out in stylish, ladylike looks at the premiere on Thursday.
Davis and Anderson both popped in bright hues, while Pfeiffer went more subdued in all-black. Each chose sharp tailoring that showed off their sartorial know-how.
The First Lady dives deep into each former first lady’s political contributions, family lives, and historical impact. It premieres Sunday, April 17, with new episodes dropping weekly. Michelle Pfeiffer in Celine
Looking effortlessly chic, Pfeiffer stepped out in a streamlined black suit set from Celine by Hedi Slimane in a double-breasted cropped Spencer jacket, a black silk button-down blouse, Taillat pants and a gold buckled Triomphe belt. She let her blonde waves loose, while accenting her look with dainty gold accessories.

Playing Barack Obama in the series, The Handmaid’s Tale star O-T Fagbenle took a dapper approach to his red carpet dressing, suiting up in all black, with a black turtleneck and black boots to make his gold lapel brooch pop.
