Two of the most recognisable shoes in the UGG archive have finally been introduced to each other. The Ultra Mini Bailey Bow takes the cropped silhouette that carried the brand through its entire Gen Z revival and adds the ribbon detail that made the Bailey Bow a cult object, producing the boot at the centre of the label’s fall 2026 back-to-school push. The timing looks calculated. Bows have dominated young wardrobes for several seasons now, threaded through the balletcore and coquette obsessions that show every sign of continuing, and a shearling boot with a ribbon at the heel lands neatly inside that world while keeping the bulk and comfort that sold the original.

UGG is keeping the style exclusive to its own channels and Journeys for the first 30 days, a scarcity move built to create waiting lists before the wider release. The rest of the season arrives around it, with new and archival footwear plus apparel completing the offer. The Ultra Mini has done extraordinary work for the brand. What began as a shortened take on the classic became the entry point for a generation that discovered UGG through social feeds rather than through mall displays, and the shape has proved unusually resistant to trend cycles, worn with everything from micro shorts to wide-leg denim to pyjamas. Adding a bow gives that customer a reason to buy a second pair. Placement follows the same logic, with paid media running across Meta, TikTok, Snap and Pinterest, the four platforms where a boot becomes a want rather than a purchase.

Campus as Creative Studio

The campaign framing deserves attention too, since UGG has built the season around artistic self-expression rather than the usual lockers and lunch trays. Alternative pop trio Muna front the imagery, fresh from the release of their fourth album in May, alongside a cast of students, artists and creators, with school spaces reimagined as working studios. Running alongside it is a nationwide college ambassador programme drawing students from art and design institutions including SCAD Atlanta, FIDM and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Each ambassador produces content rooted in their own practice, from animation to printmaking, which places the product inside real creative work rather than beside it. The inclusivity runs through the whole exercise. UGG maintains a year-round partnership with Queer|Art, which supports LGBTQ+ creatives through grants and community programming, and has donated to Chicxs Rockerxs South East Los Angeles, a nonprofit using music and mentorship to reach young people from underrepresented communities. For a brand selling comfort, building a campaign around belonging makes a certain kind of sense.
