High off the heyday of his introspective rap album Call Me If You Get Lost, Tyler, the Creator is offering us another venture into his kaleidoscope of creativity. Marked by his satirical trollish humor, the 30-year-old megastar is displaying his comedic expertise in a new advertisement for Converse under his direction.

The two-minute video, a short focusing on the classic Chuck 70, revolves around “The Really Cool Converse Club” and features some really cool guest stars. With comedians Tim Meadows and Henry Rollins playing leading roles while Vince Staples makes a welcomed cameo, the set takes place at the club’s latest deliberation in an empty auditorium. The meeting opens and closes with the club — a mixed ensemble of soccer moms, pirates, greasers, skateboarders and more — revoking the membership of Meadow’s character for breaking the club’s most consequential rules: sporting a denim hat.

According to a statement via Hype Beast, the de facto leader of Odd Future (lovingly known as OFWGKTA) drew his storyboard inspiration from the variety of people who sport the timeless all-star shoe. “I instantly thought about the many pockets of people that wear Chucks – like skateboarders, soccer moms, kids down the street, guys in the neighborhood I grew up with – and I wanted to put them in one place, that was important to me,” said Tyler. “Everyone wears Chucks…including pirates.”

Tyler is a long-time and frequent collaborator of Converse with his reimagination of One Star, an ode to his Flower Boy album art, releasing in 2017. His latest Chuck 70s iteration, which is unsurprisingly sold out, is emblazoned with pastel flames across the high-top sneaker’s neutral canvas.

Following the sublime release of Call Me If You Get Lost last month, the album became his second No.1 on the Billboard 200 and landed as the multi-hyphenate’s self-assertion in the rap arena after years of being siloed to the margins of the genre. Flaunting the features of hip hop’s prized artists — NBA YoungBoy, Lil Wayne, 42 Dugg and more — Tyler, The Creator has assured us all that his artistry is formidable and certainly here to stay.
