Oh, how times have changed. Gone are the days of cartoon tees and no-frill sneakers, enter $700 cashmere sweaters for the new generation of youths. With school back in season IRL, The Row is venturing into a new fashion sphere — childrenswear. The exciting and oh-so adorable launch (revealed exclusively to W Magazine) follows Thom Browne’s line of designer kidswear.

As kids increasingly get chicer (just take a look at TikTok), the need for more elevated and luxury options seem… necessary? However, The Row, known for its minimal and mature aesthetic, brings a new approach to their designer childrenswear collection. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen put a playful twist on timeless sweaters and crewneck silhouettes by stepping out of their monochromatic box and adding a wide array of colors. The line is completed by adorable velvet slip-ons for a full The Row look.

The Row spares the kiddos by stripping down the pieces of any zippers, laces, or other materials that would most likely frustrate a child, to make the clothes as comfortable as possible. “The items have to have a sense of practicality, ease, and comfort,” Mary-Kate shared in the interview with W Magazine. “We think of this for our main collections, but it’s even more important for kids. Over the past ten years, we’ve personalized cashmere onesies and blanket sets for our clients and friends who have had kids. We wanted to explore that in a bigger way.”

Although a price range from $390 to $790 may seem a bit extreme for garments ranging from 2 to 10 years, there is no question that each piece is undeniably cute and will have your child voted best dressed in class. Not to mention proceeds from the sales will be donated to charities across Los Angeles, New York, and London to support children’s health, education, and other necessities. Ahead, check out more of the super adorable campaign from the childrenswear collection, which released today.
