Scheduled for December 4, at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, TFA serves as a critical fundraiser for the BFC Foundation, embracing fashion’s intersection with culture and entertainment. It celebrates creative talent and tells the year’s fashion stories through the lenses of purpose, excellence, and creativity, with a particular focus on British creative energy’s global impact on the industry.

Model of the Year

The “Model of the Year” category recognizes individuals who have transcended the catwalk, leaving a lasting mark on the fashion world. This year’s nominees include the likes of Alton Mason, Anok Yai, Kai-Isaiah Jamal, Liu Wen, Mona Tougaard, and Paloma Elsesser, all of whom have yielded significant influence over the past year.

British Menswear and Womenswear Designers of the Year

Recognizing the designers who have reshaped the international fashion landscape, the “British Menswear Designer of the Year” and “British Womenswear Designer of the Year” categories feature outstanding talents. Grace Wales Bonner (for Wales Bonner), Kiko Kostadinov (for Kiko Kostadinov), Kim Jones (for Dior Men), Martine Rose (for Martine Rose), and Steven Stokey-Daley (for S.S.DALEY) compete for the menswear title, while Erdem Moralıoğlu (for Erdem), Maximilian Davis (for Ferragamo), Nensi Dojaka (for Nensi Dojaka), Roksanda Ilinčić (for ROKSANDA), and Simone Rocha (for Simone Rocha) vie for the womenswear crown.

These categories acknowledge designers who have forged new paths in British fashion, making waves globally. Bianca Saunders, Corteiz, LABRUM London, Nicholas Daley, and Saul Nash represent the menswear category, while Chopova Lowena, Dilara Fındıkoğlu, KNWLS, ROBERT WUN, and Supriya Lele compete in the womenswear arena.

The selection process involved industry experts with Caroline Issa at the helm, along with a panel of renowned fashion figures, ensuring that only the best of the best make it to the final list.

While the Designer of the Year and BFC Foundation Award nominees will be announced in November, TFA 2023 promises more than just accolades. It includes the prestigious Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, the Outstanding Achievement Award, the Leader of Change award, and several Special Recognition Awards, honoring those who have made exceptional contributions to the fashion industry.

Furthermore, TFA will shine a spotlight on 50 of the most innovative and inspiring young creative talents from around the world, underlining the industry’s commitment to nurturing fresh voices and perspectives.
