For everyone in the fashion industry, February is one of the most important months of the year. It signifies the beginning of a new season and the commencement of the craziness of fashion month. This year, fashion week is not operating the way it used to, with virtual shows and presentations becoming the new norm for showcasing new collections. And while designers have come up with some creative ways to engage a new audience without showing in person, one major aspect missing from virtual fashion month that can’t seemingly be replicated is street style.

The phenomenon of photographing show goers and their epic outfits quickly generated some of the most anticipated images of fashion week, inspiring trends outside (literally) of what was walking down the runway. While we are missing that source of style and entertainment as we consume fashion week content from our homes, we can always look back on past seasons to celebrate individual style.

The winter fashion weeks are always a particularly good source of style inspiration because the challenge of dressing for the unpredictable weather is a factor that can’t be ignored. Snow, freezing rain, biting wind, and of course ,the arctic temperatures bring out the best statement coats and creative layering.

These 15 street style stars showed that the true test of style is how to make layers of down, wool, fur, and heat-tech look good without looking like the Michelin man.
