The resort’s main hub is a saloon where well-booted guests can mosey up to the long wooden bar on which Butch Cassidy etched his name while holed up here after robbing a bank in nearby Telluride. Skiing, soaks in the hot springs and long lazy afternoons reading by the fire in the library thankfully have taken the place of showdowns and shootouts. -AR
