While it may be the height of Scorpio season right now, more importantly, it is SZA‘s birthday. The hip hop/ R&B artist has made her rounds as one of the most popular names in the game right now. At 32-years-old, and with just two studio albums under her belt, SZA has become a household name to many, and a red carpet standout, to say the least.

For her birthday, we decided to roundup of SZA’s best red carpet moments, both recent and in the distant past, to take a look at the hip hop icon’s style over the years.

And don’t worry, we’re going to dive into that Met Gala look.

Of course, when attending a Fenty x Puma show, you have to make a statement. With this sheer, cut out tank top swallowed by a luxurious fur coat, it’s no wonder she was a stand out in this show’s celebrity attendance.

This maximalist, floral halter dress stole the show at the 2016 Grammy Awards. With hair big and beautiful, SZA made a presence for herself this year. Vibrant, full of color and radiance, you could say she’s channeling the love and light she’s known for in her music.

She’s giving all sorts of alternative, edgy vibes with this one. SZA, for this look, combined the classic sillouhettes of a sheer, peak-a-boo gown with some rockstar accouterments, such as the silver, bedazzled flames creeping up from the hem.

Okay, let’s talk about this gown. Pulling right from the lookbooks of a Bob Mackie and Cher collaboration, this dress made SZA an icon to remember at the 2018 Grammys. Sparkling down the red carpet, she flowed with grace, elegance and sensuality all the while holding a white rose to represent her solidarity with the “Time’s Up” movement. At the intersection of activism and fashion, SZA stole this show.

Heavenly Bodies Met Gala – 2018

This is the look that broke the internet when we saw it happen in real time. Inspired by all things in the Catholic imagination sphere, SZA channeled a ethereal weeping Virgin Mary dress in a pink chiffon cotton-candy fantasy. In custom Versace, SZA took the theme by storm, giving us an alternative take on a classic icon of Christendom.

In snow white Vivienne Westwood, you could say that SZA follows a theme of embodying a heavenly presence / bride of life on the red carpet.

Turning the little black dress on its head, SZA showed ample body and personality in this look. Departing from her usual big, vibrant and dream-like aesthetic, she gave us sleekness and minimalism with this one, with just the right amount of jewelry to amplify it to the next level.
