Arriving to the French Riviera over the weekend, Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney walked the pink carpet for the fifth annual Cannes International Series Festival – Canneseries to accept the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award, emulating chic French stars with her classic LBD and hair accessory.
Taking to Instagram to express her gratitude, Sweeney posted, “What a special evening 🙂 beyond honored to receive the rising star award at @canneseries 🥰.”
Appropriately channeling legendary French fashion icons while in Cannes, Sweeney’s strapless A-line Prada dress with tiered ruffles and micro crystal embellishment exuded chic A-list glamor. Styled by Molly Dickson, the White Lotus star paired her dress with classic black Christian Louboutin pumps, and tied her wispy blonde tresses back in the French It-girl style, with a black ribbon.
Calling to mind Catherine Deneuve (who loved a good bow moment) or Brigitte Bardot, Sweeney has been known to emulate the latter on several occasions, paying homage to the actress’ mid-century blonde bombshell aesthetic. (She channeled Bardot at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty just a week ago.)
The actress told Tmrw magazine in May 2021, “I love Brigitte Bardot and the beauty of that era.”
Looking more and more like the And God Created Woman actress, Sweeney posed for a series of portraits at the Cannes International Series Festival in a floral daffodil-print balloon-sleeve Rodarte dress with her blonde bangs framing her face, and the rest of her locks loosely tied in a half updo.
With her Rising Star Award celebrating this bourgeoning actress’ frenetic ascent, Sweeney is just getting started.
