Following Kourtney Kardashian’s refreshing open letter encouraging new mums to find the beauty in their post-birth bodies, first-time mother Suki Waterhouse has offered her own glimpse into the realities of postpartum life. The Daisy Jones & The Six star welcomed her first child with partner Robert Pattinson into the world earlier this year, sharing the news with a sweet Polaroid picture of her cradling the newborn. (Much like Waterhouse and Pattinson’s relationship, details surrounding the baby’s arrival, name and gender have been kept private.)

Overnight, the multihyphenate creative has taken her trademark candidness one step further, offering up a much-awaited update on the “humbling” experience and plethora of hormones that come with the fourth trimester. “The fourth trimester has been … humbling!” the 32-year-old began. “The postpartum period has been filled with exhilarating joy, so much laughter, tears, soo many hormones! I’m proud of everything my body has achieved and proud of the kindness and grace I’ve given myself during this recovery period.”

Waterhouse’s caption accompanied a series of mirror selfies showcasing her maternity uniform and post-baby bump. Her mum wardrobe is not the typical lace and leather rockstar silhouettes she sports on stage during performances, nor the unconventionally luxury perinatal style sported by Rihanna, but it still features her preferred shape of bottoms: micro shorts. In the pictures, Waterhouse can be seen wearing a knitted bralette, oversized cardigan and high-waisted disposal underwear designed to support cesarean section recovery.

Within hours of expressing the pride she felt for herself in navigating this period, Waterhouse made it clear that she was first and foremost a working mum ready to get back to business. She also shared a reel promoting her upcoming album, My Fun, teasing new singles and confirming the release date. Talk about the perfect nursery lullaby for her little bub!
