Sofia Richie is engaged! The model and designer announced the happy news on Instagram, sharing photos of the special proposal — and flashing her gorgeous new diamond ring.
Richie shared photos of the moment when her boyfriend of one year, founder of independent record label 10K Projects Elliot Grainge, got down on one knee, where they were surrounded by scattered flower petals and candles in a tropical setting. She captioned her social media post, “Forever isn’t long enough.”
The 23-year-old daughter of Lionel Richie and Diane Alexander has been romantically linked to the 28-year-old son of Sir Lucian Grainge, the chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group, since going Instagram official in March of 2021.
When Entertainment Tonight reported the news of the couple’s relationship in April 2021, the publication said that Richie and Grainge “have been friends for years and Elliot is also close with Sofia’s brother, Miles,” noting her family’s approval.
Now sporting a hefty new emerald-cut diamond on her ring finger, Sofia posed alongside her new fiancé, friends, and sister Nicole Richie, for a slew of photos shared on social media, with Nicole joking on her Instagram stories, “Can’t wait to find ways to make this about me.”
The footage of the celebratory occasion looked like a blast, with videos posted of the happy couple jumping into the pool fully clothed, with Richie still in her yellow floral-print sundress.
According to The Diamond Pro, Sofia’s new bling “appears to be an emerald cut or a radiant cut,” which could clock in at 10 carats. “I’d estimate the value to be an impressive half a million dollars,” the expert said in a statement.
