And just like that… HBO Max has confirmed the Sex and the City reboot will see Chicago Fire star David Eigenberg and Evan Handler both reprise their roles.

David will reprise his role of Steve Brady, Miranda Hobbes’ husband and the father of her son, Brady, while Evan will return as Harry Goldenblatt, Charlotte York’s husband and the father of her two daughters. Also returning are Mario Cantone and Willie Garson as couple Anthony Marentino and Stanford Blatch.

David previously teased his return earlier in 2021, when he shared he had been in talks with the studio. He joked that he hopes fans – and the stars themselves – will finally discover what Miranda and Steve’s son’s last name will be.

“We never established whether he was Brady Hobbs or Brady Brady Hobbs or Brady Hobbs Brady. So I’m really hoping to see that we’re all going to be together,” he shared.

Also confirmed to return are Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon as Miranda and Kristin Davis as Charlotte; Kim Cattrall will not be returning as Samantha Jones. “Samantha isn’t part of this story,” SJP confirmed on social media, “but she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do.”

Chris Noth will also appear as Mr Big, with Executive Producer Michael Patrick King praising the actor after the announcement was made, and revealing he was “thrilled to be working with Chris again.”
“How could we ever do a new chapter of the Sex and the City story without our Mr. Big?” he added.

Fans are also in for some new faces though, as Grey’s Anatomy star Sara Ramirez has joined the cast as a new character, Che Diaz, a non-binary, queer stand-up comedian whose podcast Carrie regularly features on.

HBO Max has revealed the new 10-part half-hour series “will follow Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.”

It began filming earlier in spring, but no official premiere date has yet to be announced.
