Last week the tensions between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall exploded when Cattrall shared a note on Instagram telling SJP “I don’t need your love and support”.

The post was in response to Parker sending her condolences to her former Sex And The City co-star after Cattrall’s brother passed away suddenly.

Parker didn’t respond to Cattrall’s public blasting right away, but in a new interview with People she acknowledged Kim’s many recent barbs, including a comment in an interview that they “were never friends”.

“I never responded to the conversation Kim had with Piers Morgan, where she said things that were really hurtful about me,” Parker said.

“We had this experience and it was amazing, and nothing will ever be like it. We had a connection with an audience, and we had a connection with the city and with this crew, and we got to tell these crazy stories with each other. So I don’t want to mess with that.

“I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing that part,” she continued. “So there was no fight, it was completely fabricated, because I actually never responded. And I won’t, because she needed to say what she needed to say, and that is her privilege.”

Uh, Sarah? It seems like from Kim’s perspective there absolutely was/is a fight.

But Parker’s MO has always been to take the high road, at least publicly, and it seems like she’s sticking with it – especially as Cattrall is grieving right now. A wise move.
