You’ve surely heard the news: Selena Gomez dropped a new single on Thursday, January 14. Named “De Una Vez,” it’s the singer’s second song sung entirely in Spanish (the first is “Un Año Sin Lluvia”), and it’s our first taste of the star’s rumored upcoming album. She also unveiled a stunning music video to accompany the new hit, and her beauty look is off-the-charts beautiful.
“Selena’s look was meant to be a bit romantic,” Gomez’s makeup artist, Melissa Murdick, said in an interview with Elle. “I wanted her to look very beautiful and feminine to match the overall feel of the video. I love how it all came together!” Unsurprisingly, the Texas native’s fans are obsessed too. “Keep glowing girl,” said one social media user. Another wrote what we’re all thinking, which is, “QUEEEEEN.”
Murdick looked to the runway for beauty inspiration and was particularly enamored of the beauty looks on the catwalk at two major fashion shows: Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2014 and Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2016 runway. The makeup artist’s interpretation was fresh-faced and feminine, yet subtle—the perfect match to her Rodarte Spring-Summer 2021 collection.
The rest of her glam squad was comprised of Marissa Marino on hair, Tom Bachik on nails, and Riawna Capri and Nikki Lee on the singer’s hair extensions. One of our favorite touches to her hair is her floral hairpins, a delicate, spring-like touch in her soft waves.
