After rumors swirled all week that Selena Gomez was dating Chainsmokers singer Drew Taggart, the actress finally cleared the air. Turns out, despite photos circulating showing Gomez on a bowling date with the musician in N.Y.C., she is in fact, single.
The 30-year-old confirmed her relationship status in a now-deleted Instagram Story on Dec. 19. Gomez shared a black and white photo of a person’s profile against a scenic backdrop writing, “I like being alone too much.”
In the photo, reported by The DailyMail, she added the hashtag, “#iamsingle.”
Earlier this week, photographs obtained by Page Six were released showing the pair bowling together on Sunday evening at a bowling alley in Brooklyn and a sourced told the outlet that the two were “making out.”
The onslaught of media attention all started a day earlier when US Weekly reported that a source said that Gomez and Taggart were dating and “having a lot of fun together.”
Taggart was last linked to Steve Jobs’ daughter, Eve Jobs, and previously dated model and DJ Chantel Jeffries, while Gomez was previously seen with Italian Canadian film producer Andrea Iervolino in August of last year.
Fans can always count on Gomez to keep it real on social media no matter the topic. Just before taming these romance rumors, she expertly shot down body shamers who came after her appearance at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards.
She addressed online bullies during an Instagram Live, which she filmed with her 9-year-old sister Gracie Elliott Teffey saying, “I’m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays. Right?” she asked Teffey as they both laughed it off. “But we don’t care,” added Gomez.
