To close out a bustling New York Fashion Week, last night, Saks and Oscar de la Renta came together to celebrate the heritage label’s new Fall-Winter 2022 line with an intimate dinner at COTE, a swanky upscale Korean steakhouse. Hosted by Saks Chief Merchandising Officer Tracy Margolies, and Oscar de la Renta co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, the evening began with cocktails and photo opps as guests trickled into the restaurant’s front room.

The guestlist included 40 or so of Sak Fifth Avenue and Oscar de la Renta supporters and friends like the ethereal Maye Musk (mother of Elon Musk), Tina Leung, Ezra William, Linus Adolfsson, Alex Bolen, Eliza Bolen, Matt Brown, Adina Reisman, Randi Levine, Jeff Levine, Chrissy Implicito, Jennifer Nisan, Cecilia Lieberman, and Charlotte Prince.

The first course started with undoubtedly the chicest steak and eggs, made with hand-cut filet mignon tartare, Regiis Ova Kaluga Royal Hybrid caviar, and milk toast. As the chefs began to warm up the grills on each table (Korean BBQ style), Margolies took the floor to share a few words about the long relationship between Oscar de la Renta and Saks. Guests were treated to six different steak bites alongside sides of egg souffle, scallion salad, seasonal ban-chan, and more.

Laughter and banter kept flowing just as much as the champagne and soju throughout the night. Garcia took to his chair, expressing gratitude and joy of having everyone come together to celebrate their latest collection with a soju toast. As all great dinner parties do, the night finished with a delicious dessert and, of course, more photos in front of the step and repeat. Guest left with a goodie bag, including Saks playing cards featuring the latest 2022 fashion trends and a jar of the soybean paste, which, other than the fantastic collection, was the other star of the night.
