Few luxury houses capture the wonders of craft and detailing quite like Hermès. From origins in leather work and saddle creation, it’s a maison that embodies the idea of fashion as art, where every button, every pleat, every fastening is considered and consecrated.

So it will come as no surprise then that the launching of a new métier within the hallowed house is a meticulously planned venture and not something Axel Dumas, CEO of Hermès, takes lightly. For this reasoning, the Hermès Beauty Métier was years in the making, a project informed by almost 200 years of a brand history so rich, so intricate, it’s almost difficult to fathom.

The first launch within the métier – the sixteenth within the house – is Rouge Hermès: a product devoted to “the beauty of lips.” Available in 24 shades (including the iconic Hermès vivid orange) and housed in a beautifully crafted, geometrical bullet, the objet d’art is part makeup, part collectable, entirely wonderful.

The range is available in both matte and satin finishes inspired by the texture of Hermès leather, and every bullet is refillable. Also included as part of the launch are a lip shine, lip brush and a mirror accessory you can drape around your neck for perfect lips at all times. Launched globally on March 4, you can now shop the products via
