Music’s resident cool girl, Rosalía, has become known for her nail art game. The singer regularly rocks XXL acrylics, usually with intricate designs or unique details. During her time in the spotlight, she’s shown off pointed digits adorned with everything from crystals to sculptural slip-on nail accessories. She even played manicurist in the music video for her track Aute Cuture, where she opens a nail salon with friends.

But her latest nail art endeavor perhaps best exemplifies the Spanish singer’s vivid style – super long, coffin-shaped acrylics with intricate depictions of the traditional Mexican card game lotería. As seen on Rosalía’s Instagram, each nail features a different design inspired by cards in the deck, including a devil, a scorpion and a moon. The base colors alternate between poppy, bright shades of blue, green, pink and yellow, and were created by Los Angeles-based nail artist Yvett G.

Rosalía’s signature creative nails were again center stage in her recent collaboration with fellow acrylic nail fan, Billie Eilish. The pair wore matching 3D glass-look manicures with elaborate shapes for their joint Lo Vas a Olvidar music video. The end result was beautiful to be sure, but the protruding flower, animal and fruit designs might just make it the most impractical manicure yet.

They might make manual handling difficult, but Rosalía says that her nails have become an extension of her identity. Thankfully, she’s learned to navigate life with them, as she explained in an interview, “The only thing I admit I can’t do with my long nails done is trying to get my card out of the ATM.”

Whether acrylics are your style or not, you’ve got to admire her commitment to the artistry.
