Pyer Moss Bags

After making history as the first Black American designer to present at Paris Haute Couture week last summer (a first in the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode’s 150-year history), founder and designer Kerby Jean-Raymond of Pyer Moss is expanding his cult-favorite line with an exciting new launch. On April 7, the designer took to social media to announce that he would be debuting his first line of handbags on April 21.

The highly-anticipated designs were first expected to launch in March when Jean-Raymond teased the campaign on Twitter, writing “Tomorrow…” He then retweeted himself, adding, “Actually, not tomorrow. Date TBD.”

Now, it looks like the campaign is a-go thanks to the billboard the brand debuted on Thursday, located right on Brooklyn’s Flatbush Avenue, in East Flatbush, where Jean-Raymond grew up.

The billboard features a top-handle bag with three-dimensional hand motifs wrapped around the sides of the yellow accessory.

Jean-Raymond shared a second image via social media, featuring a red hand-shaped bag with the caption, “Our debut bag collection launches April 21. Photographed by Shikeith. Styling by Dara.” Both styles pack a major statement, pursuant of Jean-Raymond’s ready-to-wear and couture designs.

Additional details on the line haven’t been release yet, but one thing is for sure, if Jean-Raymond designs it, they’ll be making their way onto the must-have bag list of 2022 in no time.
