Imagine being invited to prom by none other than Olivia Rodrigo?! For the fans of the teenage soon-to-be superstar, their wildest dreams have come true and it’s all happening tonight.

Rodrigo‘s hotly-anticipated concert film, SOUR Prom, will livestream to her YouTube channel tonight at 8:30 PST. In addition to her gracious invitation to the “ultimate alternative prom experience,” viewers can get some virtual backstage action and head to her YouTube at 8 p.m. PST for the official SOUR Prom Pre-Party for a Q&A.

This blockbuster release is an ode to her chart-topping album SOUR, which will predictably helm the Billboard 200 for a second week in the coveted No. 1 spot. From her meteoric rise on TikTok with “Drivers License,” the 18-year-old has become the new heartbreak heroine that we’ve been longing for since Taylor Swift captured the core of genre in the mid 2000s and fans cannot wait to indulge in her platinum hits (even if it’s from their humble abodes).

And as much as we are dying to croon Rodrigo’s lovelorn ballads tonight, not everyone is too happy with their invitation. The promo featured the songstress as a prom queen donning a crown and holding a bouquet of flowers as mascara streams down her face. While most of the Livies (her die-hard fandom) assumed the images sought inspiration from the chilling thriller Carrie, Courtney Love believes it is a derivative of one of her past album covers.

The frontwoman of Holes says the images were strikingly similar to the cover of the band’s 1994 album “Live Through This” where she also wore a prom queen giddup with smudged mascara beneath her eyes.  In a post of Rodrigo’s photo to Instagram, Love wrote in the caption, “Spot the Difference! #twinning.”  Responding in the comment section, Rodrigo wrote, “love u and live through this sooooo much.” Later on her Facebook account, Love penned a more candid note of dissent to the former Disney star. “It was rude of her, and  Geffen (Rodrigo’s record label) not to ask myself or  Ellen Von Unwerth (’Live Through This’ cover photographer),” the 56-year-old wrote. She continued, “Stealing an original idea and not asking permission is rude. There’s no way to be elegant about it.”
