After a whirlwind of a year for comedian John Mulaney, it finally looks like something good is coming his and Olivia Munn’s way. The couple is now expecting their first child, Mulaney confirmed on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Tuesday. The couple has been reportedly together for four months now, and this comes after the comedian had some turbulent events over the past year.

“I went to rehab in September. I got out in October. I moved out of my home from my ex-wife [Anna Marie Tendler]. I hosted ‘Saturday Night Live’ on Halloween. I relapsed on drugs… then I continued using drugs,” Mulaney said on Late Night. “I went to rehab again, this time for two months. I got out in February. I lived in sober living for another month and a half. Then, in the spring, I went to Los Angeles and met and started to date a wonderful woman named Olivia.”

But after all the chaos and negativity, there is something to celebrate. He is now set to be a first-time father and Munn a first-time mother.

“We’re having a baby together,” Mulaney said. “I was nervous when I was about to say the news. I’m gonna be a dad!”

Munn has not yet released any statements about her pregnancy, but a source told Page Six that the couple is “delighted by the news.”

It seems like in Hollywood, we’re in the age of a star-studded baby boom as Kylie Jenner also revealed yesterday that she is pregnant with baby number two with boyfriend Travis Scott. Jenner posted a video to Instagram showing her baby bump and sharing an ultrasound of her second child. And just last week, Cardi B and Offset welcomed a baby boy.

After a year of negative stories and doom-scrolling, hearing that people have blessings of children on the way is the exact type of reparative news we need to see.
