Congratulations are in order for model Olivia Culpo and NFL running back Christian McCaffrey. The two announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on Friday with the simple caption, “♾️4.2.23♾️.”
The two shared a series of black and white photos of McCaffrey, 26, getting down on one knee in a desert-like landscape. There are pics of them embracing, Culpo, 30, looking shocked in the moment and of course, there’s a shot of her enormous diamond ring.
Her sparkler is from bespoke bridal and fine jewelry brand Ring Concierge and features a huge Whisper Thin Three-Stone Oval in the center, with epaulette side stones, in two-tone yellow gold/platinum.
“We worked with Christian to thoughtfully design a ring that encompassed Olivia’s trendsetting style while still remaining timeless — a beautifully cut Oval flanked with Epaulette side stones in a handcrafted gold and platinum setting,” said Nicole Wegman, Founder and CEO of Ring Concierge.
Over the past few days, Culpo has been sharing snaps on a road trip with her soon-to-be hubby, including a get-ready-with-me video from their RV and lots of scenic snaps as they explored the great outdoors, when the proposal most likely took place.
The couple first sparked romance rumors in May 2019, about a year after Culpo and her previous boyfriend, NFL star Danny Amendola, parted ways. Culpo and McCaffrey became more official after they were photographed together in Mexico months later.
On their third anniversary last year, Culpo shared a sweet post that detailed how they met. She wrote on Instagram, “Three years ago I was not looking for a relationship. When my best friends Kristen & Tyler called me and asked if I would be open to meeting their friend Christian I was apprehensive. I was worried it would be the same old story all over again and that all guys were the same. While my expectations were low, I knew I couldn’t close myself off and make decisions based on fear.”
The second pic in her slideshow featured a pic of McCaffrey photographed by her friend Kristen waiting for Culpo before their first date. “I love this photo (the 2nd pic) that Kristen snapped when he wasn’t looking, waiting to meet me for the first time, so sweet, vulnerable and humble (and with the flowers, I can’t 🥹),” Culpo wrote. “I’m so grateful for the voice inside me that told me to give love another chance. The yin to my yang, you are the epitome of strength through humility. Thank you for being my rock and restoring my faith in love. You are everything I ever dreamed of and more ❤️ ❤️
When the football star was traded from the Carolina Panthers to the San Francisco 49ers in October, the former Miss Universe showed her support on Instagram writing that she’s “so proud” of her man. “Seeing your light shine is one of my favorite things in life and I’m beyond excited and grateful for this next chapter in Cali, the place I’ve called home for the last 8 years. Niners Nation, let’s go!”
