The internet lit up at the news that North West is poised to launch a skincare brand. The 9-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West isn’t new to beauty — she’s part of the Hollywood dynasty that launched Skkn by Kim and Kylie Beauty, after all. She also regularly posts her own beauty habits to TikTok: Drunk Elephant LalaRetro, her mum’s line, Dior blush and Refy brow gel among her favorites.

So how and why do we think North is set to launch something of her own? Via the trademark office, naturally (essentially the source of all celebrity beauty brand gossip).

According to The Sun, Kardashian recently applied for four trademarks in North’s name: two for advertising services and entertainment, another for a toy brand, and one for a skincare line spanning moisturizers, creams, cleansers, serums, oils, bubble bath, fragrance, hair care and body wash.

There’s been no comments made by the Kardashian-West family as of yet, but given their stellar track record in launching new business ventures we wouldn’t be surprised (also, West seems to have a vested interest in hair, skin and makeup). Kylie Jenner has even followed a similar path, launching Kylie Baby in the months following the birth of her first child, Stormi.

It’s not the first time Kardashian and her sisters have trademarked their kid’s names (there’s currently trademarks listed against Saint, Chicago and Psalm for everything (vitamins, apparel, books, jewellery… you name it). Sister Kourtney also runs a wellness platform called Poosh, named after her daughter Penelope.

Whether or not West Skincare, Skin by North, or something similar is on the horizon is uncertain as of yet, but we’re ready and waiting.
