French cult shoe brand Nodaleto and Gen Z-focused label Heaven by Marc Jacobs are heavily influenced by ’90s nostalgia, so when the footwear brand teased a campaign photo on September 19, we couldn’t help but think that this all makes sense. But Nodaleto’s cheeky teaser wasn’t the only first look that graced our Instagram feeds, hinting at the nostalgic it-girl footwear collection launch.
Street style icon Dua Lipa was also spotted out in NoHo with fellow fashion risk-taker and BFF Bella Hadid wearing a pair of Mary Jane style shoes (a signature of most Nodaleto styles) from the newly launched collaboration. The collection is inspired by Sofia Coppola’s debut film, Virgin Suicides, and looks back to a “hyper-realistic teenage dream.” Hence the high school vibe campaign photos by Hugo Comte. And oh, does Lipa’s look fit right in oh-so perfectly.
The full range includes knee-high boots in black, yellow, and tartan iterations in Nodaleto’s signature exaggerated boxed toe and star cut-out detailing. The Babies (worn by Lipa) emphasize a chunky heel and also come in black, purple, and tartan colorways. While Lipa opted for her own dainty white socks, the collaboration has knee-length socks in black, pastel blue, and pink.
The singer looked like she just stepped out of a ’90s teen drama film matching her plaid Nodaleto x Heaven by Marc Jacobs shoes with a checkered print cropped shirt and pleated miniskirt set, with a statement-making Thom Browne Hector Jr. dog-shaped bag.
