May 18, 2021: To the surprise of absolutely everyone, supermodel Naomi Campbell announced the birth of her first child this morning. The legendary supermodel shared the news on Instagram with a photo showing her 10.5 million followers her baby’s teeny-tiny feet and the bottom half of their floral outfit. Through our unprecedented tears, we couldn’t help but peep the gorgeous holographic ombré manicure on Campbell’s nails holding the itty-bitty newborn.
Campbell’s manicure is a blend of the old-school. From what we can see of her nails on Instagram, they have a square shape and color that fuses two of the biggest nail trends of 2021: French gradient manicures and a holographic hue. Her nails go from a gentle beige near the cuticle to a light, pearly-rainbow-holographic glitter at the tips—the perfect combination of mature and playful.
At the time of writing, GRAZIA has yet to determine what manicurist was responsible for the London native’s picture-perfect talons. The model remains hush-hush about who she entrusts with her manicures, but she’s very vocal about her commitment to maintaining them. When asked about her beauty tips in 2016, Campbell told Allure, “Regular manicures and pedicures—women should maintain themselves.”
And in an interview with W Magazine, she made it clear that her weekly manicures and pedicures aren’t just for her own pleasure but a job requirement. “I always show up to a job over-prepared rather than under-prepared,” she told the outlet. And clearly, Campbell came to Instagram to show us all that she wasn’t going to hold her baby with unmanicured fingernails—no way.
