What started as one fun fan moment has turned into a full blown Miley movement.
Last week, a TikTok couple told their followers that they’d get married if Miley Cyrus commented on their video. In a totally unexpected move, the “Wrecking Ball” singer appeared in the comments section writing, “Hope it goes better for you two than it did for me, 💍☠️🖤 Congrats.”
The 28-year-old was of course referring to her short-lived marriage to long-time partner Liam Hemsworth. The potential bride and groom then posted another clip of the guy “contemplating” the decision and Cyrus assured her encouragement adding, “HE LOVES YOU SO MUCH.”
Fans quickly took notice of Cyrus’ engagement with her followers and flooded social media with other requests. A TikTok user by the name of Hannah shared a video post of herself lip syncing to a clip of the singer’s new song with Dua Lipa “Prisoner” and proposed changing her own name if she received just a simple comment from the Tennessee native.
“If miley cyrus comments on this ill legally change my name to Hannah Montana when I turn 18 … my name is already hannah so i have a headstart 😃,” she wrote. “@mileycyrus I will carry on ur legacy 😀.”
Sure enough, Cyrus, who starred as the fictional teen pop singer on the popular Disney Channel show, was quick to respond commenting, “WIG IS SNATCHED,” referring to her shock.
Yet another woman on TikTok posted a video of herself dancing to Cyrus’ track, “Plastic Hearts” and wrote, “If Miley comments I’ll get whatever tattoo she says.” The singer not only responded but made a request of her own
“How about the time and place of our first date?” she flirted back alongside heart, kissing, cherry and tongue emojis.
Over the weekend, the challenge continued to grow as thousands of “Smilers” did their best to grab the attention of their favorite pop star. In another wild act of decision making, Cyrus helped name one fan’s baby “California.”
E! News even vowed to change their Instagram bio to “whatever” the “Malibu” singer wanted. Following through after she commented, the bio read ‘We’re sorry for all the s**t we said about Miley Cyrus.” Other crazy dares fulfilled by her comments including dying hair, revealing crushes, piercing nipples, shaving heads, breaking up with significant others and more.
She can’t stop and she won’t stop!
