When Megan Thee Stallion spit “2021, finna graduate college” on her bombshell song-of-the-summer contender, “Thot Sh*t,” there was no pun intended. When she isn’t dueling with politicians over her sexually liberating bars or winning Grammys or spearheading the infamous “hot girl summer,” the emcee is poring over her healthcare administration studies at Texas Southern University. And as the days of her remarkably juggling school and a full-time rap career are coming to a close, the 26-year-old is tidying up her commencement ceremony guest list and guess whose on it? The Hotties!

In a tweet, the Good News artist wrote, “I really want some of my hotties to come to my graduation,” she tweeted on Monday” — punctuating the message with a crying emoji. Reflecting on her journey over the past years, she followed up in a separate tweet, writing, “My college experience has been a roller coaster! I started at PV went to come community colleges in between and I’m ending at TSU.” She continued with a glowing message to her die-hard fanbase: “Don’t get discouraged! You can chase your dreams and your education at the same time.”

As we’ve watched her meteoric ascent to stardom, we’ve all gasped in awe of her resilience. In March 2019, the rapper’s mother suddenly passed to brain cancer. In an interview with People, she opened up about her wishes to continue her studies in spite of her grief. “I want to get my degree because I really want my mom to be proud,” she said.  She continued, “I’m doing it for me, but I’m also doing it for the women in my family who made me who I am today.” The Grammy award-winning artist has remained candid about her hopes to one day open a healthcare facility in honor of her late mother and grandmothers.
