Everyone make way because this outfit needed room to breathe! Last night, Bottega Veneta hosted their Salon 03 presentation at the Michigan Theatre in Detroit, where after being teased online about a “surprise celebrity appearance” from “one of the biggest pop stars in the world,” Mary J. Blige stepped on to the scene. She definitely used this opportunity to make a big fashion statement, as she stepped on to the scene in a bold, ruby red fur coat that took up the entire room, both in sheer size and in personality.

The outfit in question is pulled directly from new Bottega Veneta’s Fall 2021 collection, with the addition of the $22,000 (yes, you read that right) Shearling coat with padded tails. The overall look was styled by Jason Rembert, who has worked with the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, Whoopi Goldberg and Lizzo. The tight, high bun Blige sported at the show was styled by Tym (TIM) Wallace, who works quite frequently with POSE star MJ Rodriguez on her red carpet hair looks.

Blige wasn’t the only star in attendance, others like Lil’ Kim showed up as well. The the rapper wore a very interestingly silhouetted garment to the Salon. The top part of the outfit was a fringed purple dress which was belted around the waist, which gave the garment a little shape. She paired the dress with a pair of thigh-high vinyl stockings and some green fuzzy heels. Her hair was a unique spectacle, while it was shiny and dark at first glance, if you looked underneath, there was a smattering of multicolored streaks. Something tells us this is not a trend that will be picked up.

Slick Woods, American fashion model and actress, who is known for her alternative look, was also in attendance. She wore a bright red corseted top with big plumes of puckered fabric around the bust and hips. The red continued down her legs with a pair of rubber heeled boots that started as pants but transitioned into her shoes.
