Madonna celebrated her 65th birthday in Lisbon, Portugal, this past week with her family and friends. The pop star shared a sweet compilation of photos and videos from the vacation on Instagram, writing, “It’s great to be Alive. and Amazing to Be able to put on my dancing shoes and Celebrate my Birthday! 🎉🎉🎉 Im So Grateful. Thank you Lisbon and to all who made it possible! 🇵🇹♥️”
The post featured photos and videos of Madonna and her loved ones relaxing on a boat, dancing the night away, and seeing live music. All six of her children — Lourdes Leon, 26, Rocco Ritchie, 23, David Banda, 17, Mercy James, 17, and twins Stella and Estere, 10 — can be seen enjoying themselves throughout the clips. Madonna was also accompanied by her boyfriend, Ahlamalik Williams.
The woman of the hour rang in her birthday week by sunbathing, swimming, and eating delicious food. Fans seemed to be ecstatic to see the singer with such a zest for life, with one follower commenting on her Instagram post calling Madonna an “undisputed queen,” along with others wishing her an abundance of happiness and health.
Madonna also took to her Instagram Story to thank her fans for their support during her recent health scare. In June, she was hospitalized for a serious bacterial infection that led to a stay in the ICU. She has since made a full recovery and is now back to celebrating with her loved ones.
The Lisbon vacation was a much-needed break for Madonna, who has been busy working on her upcoming tour, “The Celebration.” The tour, which honors the 40th anniversary of her debut album, Madonna, is set to kick off in London in October and will end in Mexico in April 2024.
