Madonna is certainly not shy when it comes to social media but she tends to keep her family life pretty private. During the Thanksgiving weekend however, the pop star honored the occasion by sharing a family portrait on Instagram with her six children, Lourdes Leon, 26, Rocco Ritchie, 22, David Banda, 17, Mercy James, 16, and twin daughters Stella and Estere, 10.
“What I’m thankful for…………. 💛 @lourdesleon @maisonrhed,” Madonna captioned the post. The singer wore a gothic corset midi dress, lace fingerless gloves and black boots while she posed alongside Lourdes who echoed her look in a black strapless corset and low slung column skirt. Like mother, like daughter.
The family celebrated with a feast on Versace dinnerware and time on the decks where the younger members of the family learned how to mix music. Make no mistake however, Madonna stole the show with a mini photoshoot holding a red wine in one hand while she posed on the bathtub — naturally. DJ and family friend Diplo commented on the post, “Lovely family”, while former Burberry creative director Riccardo Tisci commented with a single black heart emoji.
Speaking to People in 2017, Madonna expressed her want for a big family and why she chose to adopt. “Sometimes I would just close my eyes and just think, ‘Why isn’t my kitchen filled with dancing children?’ There’s so many children that need a home,” she said. “I thought, ‘What am I waiting for? Just do it.'”
In another pocket of the country, the Kardashians were celebrating Thanksgiving with a lavish Bridgerton-themed dinner party with and all-black dress code.
In October the “Material Girl” star used her platform — a huge 18.6 million followers on Instagram and 3.2 million on TikTok — to seemingly announce she was gay. In a video she wrote “If I miss, I’m gay!” while she held up a pink pair of lace panties. Aiming for the bin across her massive bathroom she made no attempt at hitting the target.
