Forget the Sex and the City reboot and all of Carrie Bradshaw’s fabulous outfits, because Lady Gaga is in town and she’s making New York City her private fashion show in the process. Over the past two days, the popstar has worn not one, but two showstopping outfits, both consisting of a skintight black dress worn in completely different ways.
First, Gaga was photographed walking the streets of New York in a black ribbed dress with cutouts around the chest. But it was her footwear that really stole the show: a pair of crazy sky-high platform black boots:
Complete with lace-up detailing and a thin stiletto heel, the boots look like they’ve been transported directly out of one of Gaga’s Chromatica video clips.
Over on Instagram, Gaga posted a completely different look from later that same day. Posing on a balcony in front of the Empire State building, she wore a black Alessandra Rich gown, which she paired with a thick belt, sculptural Manolo Blahnik heels, and Dita cat-eye sunglasses.
Gaga captioned the image, “Nothing has a bigger heart than this.” Her fans reacted appropriately, dubbing her the “QUEEN OF NEW YORK CITY” and another noting she’s, “Serving rich Italian jazz singer.”
The singer has always used fashion to make a statement and these recent outings are no different. Gaga is performing with Tony Bennett in a special two-night jazz concert at Radio City Hall in New York City next week. Her elegant, timeless gown by Alexandra Rich with her hair pulled back into slick bun makes complete sense: it’s the exact ensemble you’d imagine seeing in a New York City dimly-lit jazz bar.
Furthermore, Gaga has very recently finished filming for the upcoming film House of Gucci, which she stars in alongside Adam Driver. In the film, Gaga plays the murderous ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, Patrizia Reggiani, whose amazing OTT Italian glam style is a huge part of her character.
Since filming wrapped, Gaga has been spending time with her boyfriend Michael Polansky in Northern California. Over the weekend, she was photographed getting tennis lessons with Polansky wearing a white Nike tennis outfit. Of course, she didn’t drop the glam completely—Gaga paired the look with gold hoop earrings, stacked gold necklaces, and what appeared to be a full face of makeup, with her hair back in a long braid. True queen behaviour.
