Ridley Scott’s upcoming film House of Gucci might just be the most anticipated release of the year—sorry, Timothee Chalamet. Ahead of the fashion biopic hitting cinemas next month, a new trailer has been released depicting the movie’s lead characters, played by Lady Gaga and Adam Driver, meeting for the first time.

In the clip, Patrizia Reggiani (Gaga) and her since-deceased ex-husband, Gucci fashion house head Maurizio Gucci (Driver), come across each other in a nightclub. After they’re shown on the dancefloor together (Gaga in a bright red dress), the two shake hands and Maurizio leans down to kiss Patrizia’s silk glove, kicking off their romance and her introduction to the Gucci empire.

Gucci is like a cake.” Maurizio tells his future wife in the clip, “You have a taste, then you want more, and then you want the whole thing for yourself.” Patrizia responds chillingly in a nod of what’s to come, “Gucci needs new blood.”

The trailer only hints at any violence with a quick shot of a gun, but as those who have followed the iconic Italian house would know, Patrizia had Maurizio murdered in 1995, when she hired a hitman to kill him on the steps of his office. House of Gucci is based on Sara Gay Forden’s book of the same name, which chronicles how Reggiani became known as “the Black Widow.”

In playing a convicted felon in the film, Gaga said she was focused on creating a “real person” out of her character. She spent six months working on her Italian accent and an additional six months maintaining it while filming. “I knew I was about to play a murderer … I wanted to make a real person out of Patrizia, not a caricature,” she told The Wall Street Journal earlier this month.

House of Gucci is set to be released in the US on November 24th.
