Over the weekend, Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet’s new movie, Dune, was released to the world after months of anticipation—and countless cute press and red carpet moments. Remember when Timmy teased Zendaya about her boyfriend Tom Holland last week? Us too. Remember when they perfectly clashed their outfits in London? Same. 

Naturally, as soon as the film hit theatres, fans of the duo rushed to see the internet’s boyfriend and the internet’s girlfriend act together for the first time. But according to Twitter, many people left the cinema disappointed. Why? Zendaya—Emmy winning actress! Style icon! All round brilliant human!—only appeared on screen for *checks notes* seven minutes. 

That’s right. Not seventy. Not even 17. Seven. 

The Euphoria star’s lack of screen time was shocking, not least because she’s been front and centre, alongside Chalamet, for the entire press run. “So I went into that new movie Dune expecting Zendaya to serve per usual the way they had her promoting it… just for her to have 10 minutes of screen time in a 2 hour movie,” one person wrote on Twitter. 

“The credits were longer than Zendaya’s camera time in Dune,” another posted. “They had Zendaya on press tour as if she has more than 5 minutes on screen,” said a third, while someone else wrote, “Dune better get a sequel the way Zendaya has been put to work for the promo.”

Thankfully, the last person was onto something: Dune is an adaption of the 1965 novel by author Frank Herbert, which is set in the distant future and revolves around warring families who each rule over individual planets. The book has been split into two parts for its on-screen portrayal, so here’s hoping we get to see (a lot) more than seven minutes of Zendaya in the sequel.

Until then, we can at least thank Dune for serving us more of Zendaya’s iconic fashion moments.
