It is no secret that Lady Gaga is a proud Joe Biden supporter. The “Rain On Me” artist traveled to Pennsylvania in late-2020 to perform at the soon-to-be-President’s last drive-in campaign event. Now, the pop star is returning to Joe Biden’s side with an appearance planned for Inauguration Day – in incredible fashion.

Lady Gaga never does anything in halves, so we weren’t surprised by her avant-garde entrance to the Capitol on Tuesday morning. Posting to Instagram, the 34-year-old appeared in the Capitol building wearing a custom cape dress courtesy of Givenchy by Matthew Williams, a white mask and her platinum-blonde hair tied in braids.

“I pray tomorrow will be a day of peace for all Americans. A day for love, not hatred. A day for acceptance not fear. A day for dreaming of our future joy as a country. A dream that is non-violent, a dream that provides safety for our souls. Love, from the Capitol 🇺🇸,” she captioned the post.

Her comments come after the highly-publicized riots that took place on January 6. According to reports from the FBI, there are armed protests planned in all 50 states and 25,000 National Guard troops have been deployed in Washington D.C. for the event. Images have surfaced online of the singer meeting soldiers in the city.

On January 14, Gaga announced she would be singing the National Anthem at the official swearing-in ceremony. The likes of Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato, and Ant Clemons will also perform on Inauguration Day.

“We are thrilled to announce an inspired group of dynamic participants for the 59th Inaugural Ceremonies,” PIC CEO Tony Allen said in a statement, which was released on Thursday. “They represent one clear picture of the grand diversity of our great nation and will help honor and celebrate the time-honored traditions of the presidential inauguration as President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris take the oath of office on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol.”

“Lady Gaga is a one-of-a kind artist, performer and a trailblazer in beauty and fashion,” the statement continued. “She is also an outspoken activist, philanthropist and supporter of many important issues including mental health, LGBTQ+ rights, HIV/AIDS awareness, and body image issues. During the Obama-Biden Administration, she worked closely with President-elect Biden’s “It’s On Us” campaign to address sexual assault on college campuses.”
