In case you missed it, the team that gifted us Bridesmaids in 2011, Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo, is releasing what looks to be a brand new gas set for our stream screens next month. Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar stars the writers as Barb and Star, long time best friends who set out for a Florida vacation from their small Midwestern town. Apparently, hilarity ensues via the trip, their relationships, and a curious evil plot from a murderous villain. Also, the fashion.

The styling looks to be a glorious ode to the brightly colored, sensibly cut couture of middle aged ladies-on-tour. In fact, it seems the farshions are so permeated to the life of the film that they have released a satirical teaser entitled Do You Like Fashion? We Like Fashion. The video, edited over stock beach footage, is in the kind you might see on loop in the lobby gift shop of a cruise liner, or at the fashion store near the supermarket that sells super long beads and mid-rise espadrilles.

There are so many best parts. Firstly, Kaia Gerber makes a cameo, opening the clip in a floral twin-set replete with salmon drill shorts and block-heel slides. There’s also comedian, Fortune Feirmeister, grooving in mauve culottes and a magnolia-and-sunset-print blouse, Rose Abdoo shimmying in T-bar sandals and an elbow-slung beach tote and Vanessa Bayer twirling in a side-tie fuchsia tee and floral pedal pushers. So. Many. Cropped. Trousers.

If you’ve ever been on a summer holiday anywhere ever, this aesthetic rings one thousand percent true. They’re the kind of wares sold in overpriced hotel shops that pride themselves on leopard caftans, raffia bags and those peach-hued cheesecloth pashminas. And, if you think about it, the fact that you could probably visit the same spot a decade later and see the exact same stock, this island-cum-shopping-center genre of fashion could just be the most long-lasting, most successful in existence.

It’s unclear if Gerber joins Wiig and Mumolo in the full length feature, or if she was just in it for the clip and the jazz flute tunes, but it is also starring Jamie Dornan, Wendi McLendon-Covey, and Damon Wayans, Jr.

If this clip alone isn’t enough to get you shaking up a Tequila Sunrise while relaxing in your best poly cotton then the others below surely will be.

Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar will be available to stream from February 12.
