Fighting between siblings is to be expected. Arguments can arise over stolen articles of clothing, or dating drama. But in the Kardashian households, it looks like a moral dispute about childcare between sisters Kim and Kourtney has made its way into the latest Keeping Up episode.

This Thursday’s episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians told of a story where Kourtney allegedly degraded Kim’s nanny in front of her kids during a trip. The nanny, whose name remains anonymous, worried that she would be fired after the altercation.

The two sisters, Kourtney, 42, and Kim, 40, fell into a dispute on whether or not Kourtney’s treatment of the nanny was fair and justified. Kim saying in the episode that the nanny “felt so degraded by you, and you just started yelling at her,” which Kourtney denied saying during the confrontation.

The incident occurred after the nanny allegedly told Kourtney’s son, 6-year-old Reign, that he would “go to jail” if he talked in the car. Kourtney attempted to justify the argument between her and Kim’s nanny on the show by saying that it is important that Reign sees Kourtney standing up for him, “I have his back.”

The argument between the sisters then devolved into more personal banter on the Kardashian sisters’ relationship to the staff they hire. Kim told Kourtney “you can’t even keep a nanny,” after Kourtney said, regarding the nanny, “”Keep her. She will not ever be around my kids.”

As the two sisters went about their back-and-forth, sharing disagreements in the typical manner for conflicting siblings, youngest Kardashian sister Khloé, 36, stood by as a third party, weighing in sparingly. As Kourtney cried (because let’s be honest, would it be a Kardashian fight without a little crying?) Khloé listened to her sister explain how Kim is “that person that uses s— against you. It’s just like, that’s the stuff that makes me question like why would you treat your family like that? It’s so f—– up.”

Khloé, in a recent interview, said that “we have individual families and don’t like to give a lot of advice, unless it’s solicited,” she said. “We never mom-shame. We hate a shamer.”

As the episode progressed and tensions started to dissipate, Kourtney and Kim went about a calmer discussion. In the confessional, Kim said she saw “both sides” of the story, and wished she had approached Kourtney about it in a different manner. But while depictions on the show fell into a calm, the sisters have had a rocky past couple of years. In a 2020 episode of Keeping Up, Kourtney and Kim got into a physical altercation on camera, can we chock this up to good old fashioned sibling rivalry? Or are there deeper tensions?
