How did we not catch this after 20 seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians? (Yes, 20!) On Monday, host, producer, and writer Andy Cohen appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to set the record straight on how you pronounce Khloé Kardashian.

“It’s Klo-ay. Khloé is the name,” he told Jimmy Fallon. “There is a little accent over the name. And so, I went and interviewed the Kardashians at Khloé’s house. I walked in, I go, ‘Khloé?’ and the other women go, ‘Excuse me?’ And Kris [Jenner] said, ‘Yeah, that’s actually really how it’s pronounced.'”

Consider our minds blown.

Cohen was invited to interview the famous family in the lead-up to the final season of KUWTK. As expected the producer had to take a COVID-19 test before entering the Kardashians’ home, but it was all completed through a gate system.

“You got to through all these gates. I had to get a COVID test before I got there. And I said, ‘Oh you wanna give me the results of the COVID test?’ They go, ‘Go to Khloé’s and if the second gate opens, you’re negative. And the gate opened and I was like, ‘Alright, I don’t have COVID. I’m good.'”

Of course it’s not the first time the entire world has mispronounced a name. In 2018, Little Women actor Timothée Chalamet revealed in an interview with VMan that his name (with the same accent above the ‘e’) is actually pronounced as “Timo-tay”, not “Timo-thy”.

“The real pronunciation is Timo-tay. But I can’t ask people to call me that; it just seems really pretentious.”

“My dad is from France, so it’s a French spelling, but it seems like too much of an obligation to ask people to call me that,” Chalamet continued.

And while you continue to expand your vocabulary, might we suggest GRAZIA’s bible in how to pronounce every fashion brand.
