The Royal family was out in full force on Thursday to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee with the Trooping the Colour. It marked the start of a weekend-long celebration to commemorate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton and their children, Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, all rode in carriages to the palace to watch the flyover alongside the Queen. (While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were photographed at Buckingham Palace, they did not joint the family on the balcony.)
As always, what Kate wore was a hot topic of conversation (as was Louis’ adorable expressions during the flyover as the family watched from the balcony at Buckingham Palace). For the occasion, Kate recycled a sleek fitted white Alexander McQueen blazer dress, which she first wore in June 2021 at the G7 Leaders’ reception. This time she accessorized with a fascinator by Philip Treacy, and diamond and sapphire earrings (that matched her engagement ring) and were owned by Princess Diana, People reported.
Kate Middleton has regularly reworn outfits over the years, and is even passing on her thirifty fashion traits to her daughter, Princess Charlotte, who matched the Queen in a darling blue dress. Princess Charlotte’s blue chiffon dress is an affordable find from Childrensalon Outlet at $67.50. In another sustainable style moment, Prince Louis, donned the same navy sailor outfit his father Prince William wore 37 years ago.
