Kanye West and Julia Fox‘s brief fling will forever be etched in our memories and while the Uncut Gems actress was accused of chasing clout, she insists it was in service of her fellow women. In a new TikTok video, Fox explained she planned to write about her relationship with West in her upcoming book, but decided to share a little insight “for free.”
The actress was responding to criticism that she dated a “famously violent misogynist and antisemite,” explaining, “the man was being normal around me!”
Fox continued, revealing that the Kardashian’s bought and sold her fashion line in their stores in the ’10s and that she had a “love” for Kim Kardashian. She said that West had been texting her and she wasn’t interested in responding — dating celebrities is apparently “boring.” “But then I had this thought and I was like, ‘oh my God, maybe I can get him off Kim’s case.’ Like, maybe I can distract him and just get him to like me. And I knew if anyone can do it, it’s me.”

The couple dated between January and February this year. During that time Fox says the rapper and designer wasn’t using social media but the moment he started tweeting again, “I was out.” “I realized pretty quickly that he wasn’t going to take my help… in saying that, I really deeply respect the man as an artist, I don’t want to s**t on that, reduce his whole career to his really bad moments.”
She concluded her brief TikTok discussion, “In saying that, I stand with the Jewish community. Period!”
In the last month prominent collaborators such as Balenciaga, Vogue (and eventually) adidas cut ties with West over a string of antisemitic comments. He had been banned from many social media platforms until this week when his account was reinstated on Twitter due to Elon Musk’s controversial takeover.
