Josh Duhamel has revealed that he emailed Armie Hammer to apologize for taking his role in the upcoming Jennifer Lopez film, Shotgun Wedding.

Armie was let go from the project in early 2021 amid a wave of claims from women that he was emotionally and physically abusive, and had reportedly had conversations with different women about cannibalistic fetishes and disturbing sexual proclivities.

Now, Josh has shared that “it’s not how I like to get roles,” and that he knew Armie and so chose to contact him to clear the air.

“I know Armie [Hammer] a little bit, and when I knew I was gonna get the part I emailed him and said, ‘Listen, I know you are going through it right now, I don’t like to get roles like this and I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and good luck, get through it,'” the actor said in a new interview.

“He emailed me right back and said thank you so who knows, hopefully he gets through it.”

Armie, a father-of-two, has denied the “bullsh*t claims” with his attorney, Andrew Brettler of Lavely and Singer, labeling the accusations “patently untrue” and that any interactions with partners were “completely consensual in that they were fully discussed, agreed upon, and mutually participatory.”

The Call Me By Your Name star’s agency and personal publicist both parted ways with him amid the allegations.

Shotgun Wedding stars Josh and JLo as Tom and Darcy, an engaged couple who get more than they bargained for during their destination wedding.

But all that drama is interrupted when her wedding party is taken as a hostage mutiny.

“‘Till Death Do Us Part’ takes on a whole new meaning in this adrenaline-pumping fun adventure in which Darcy and Tom must save their loved ones, if they don’t kill each other first,” said director Jason Moore.
