Just over 12 months since Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez made the surprise decision to split, the former MLB athlete was spotted kissing 25-year-old model Kathryne Padgett on a vacation in Italy this week. A source for Entertainment Tonight confirmed that the couple are dating, but they’re not “exclusive.” “They’re just having fun,” the insider added.
With a 21-year age difference, the new romance begs the question: what does Lopez think?
According to another source for ET, “Jen is focused on herself and doesn’t even think twice about A-Rod or his current love life. She wishes [Alex] the best, but it’s not something that bothers her or takes up space in her mind whatsoever. She just wants everyone to be happy, whatever that might entail.”
They added, “A-Rod is 100 percent at the back of her mind, and his dating life doesn’t faze her.”
Rodriguez and Lopez split in April 2021 after the pop star admitted to needing couples therapy during 2020. They had been engaged since 2019. In a joint statement at the time, the couple revealed, “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children.”
Lopez reunited with ex Ben Affleck shortly following the break up and are due to marry soon. “They can’t wait to spend the rest of their lives together forever, happily in love,” an insider said last month.
