Since giving birth to a baby boy, Cy in February, Jennifer Lawrence has undergone a summer sartorial renaissance. The actress has been photographed many times walking throughout the West Village in New York City in perfect pared back street style. She returned to the red carpet for the first time since her pregnancy at the weekend and honored the occasion in spectacular style.

Lawrence attended the premiere of her new film Causeway at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 10 wearing a black Dior Haute Couture gown from the House’s Fall 2022 collection. The off-the-shoulder dress featured a corset bodice and balloon sleeves and paired with black strappy sandals, styled by Kate Young. In keeping with her laidback approach to fashion, Lawrence finished the ensemble with relaxed beach waves and nude dewy makeup.

The Hunger Games star appears in the upcoming drama and follows a US Soldier named Lynsey (Lawrence) who suffers a traumatic brain injury while fighting Afghanistan. She struggles in adjusting to home life in New Orleans following the incident.

Speaking about the film at a press conference, the 31-year-old recalled leaving home at just 14. “I felt something in my gut when I read this,” she said. “That kind of immediate, ‘We have to make this.’ I identify with that feeling of trying to find your home. And trying to find where you have purpose. I left home when I was 14. My relationship with home has always been complicated.”

It is Lawrence’s first film since the release of Netflix dark comedy Don’t Look Up alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Meryl Streep in late 2021. The actress embarked on that press tour many months pregnant and marked the return of glam maternity style. She walked so Rihanna could run.
