Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are officially engaged! According to reports, the Amazon founder popped the question to his girlfriend of about four years with an impressive diamond sparkler.
Over the weekend, the couple was spotted on Bezos’s $500 million yacht, which was just completed this March, at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, when photographers caught a glimpse of Sánchez’s new engagement ring.
Bezos simply wore a black polo shirt and jeans, while Sánchez adorned a white cropped tank top and a low-rise tan knit skirt embellished with floral appliqués.
While close-up photos of the ring have yet to be released, Mike Fried, the CEO of The Diamond Pro, believes the hefty diamond to be between 15 and 20 carats and estimates the value to be at least $2 million.
While setting sail in the South of France, the pair docked the majestic boat to attended the prestigious festival on Saturday for the premiere of Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. Supporting the Apple Original Film, the couple was seen at the event, rubbing shoulders with Apple CEO Tim Cook. It appears as though Sánchez decided not to wear her new bling to the event.
The couple went public with the relationship in 2019 on the heels of Bezos’ split with his former wife MacKenzie Scott. Bezos and Scott share three sons and one adopted daughter.
Sánchez is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and a helicopter pilot. She shares her son Nikko, 22, with her ex, Tony Gonzalez and two children, Evan, 16, and Ella, 15, with ex-husband Patrick Whitesell.
“Lauren is the most generous, most big-hearted person that you would ever meet,” Bezos told CNN in November. “She is an inspiration in that way at every level. She is generous with somebody she just meets, she’s generous with every person and she’s generous in the large too.”
