With the upcoming release of Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated film House of Gucci, the extravagant estate featured in the production will be available to book for one night only on March 30, 2022. Located on the western shore of Lake Como in Northern Italy, bookings will open on December 6th at 12:00 p.m. EST exclusively on airbnb.com, and only one lucky booker will steal the deal. With the host offering the opportunity to one guest and a plus one, Villa Balbiano, one of Lake Como’s largest private residences, could be yours for 1,000 euros without including taxes and fees (approximately $1,128 in US dollars).

Coming to theaters November 24th, House of Gucci sees the Villa Balbiano as the home of head of the family Aldo Gucci, played by Al Pacino. While the property includes six luxurious suites and the host will be allowing access to the master suite, the first four floors of the estate, the swimming pool, the private pier, the boathouse, and all amenities the villa has to offer. With gardens so lavish and intricate, the distinguished palazzo has been recognized by the British Society of Garden Designers.

With a history as grand as its landscape and interiors, the villa was home to Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio who was responsible for building the structure around the end of the 16th century. Following him was Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini, who continued to broaden the property and even erected a church on the land. Villa Balbiano grew to become an intellectual hub, where people would gather to discuss progressive ideas and admire the substantial art collection Durini had amassed. With 17th century Baroque-era frescos by painters like Agostino Silva and the Recchi brothers, these pieces have been exceptionally preserved and remain in the home to this day.

Revamped with the help of French architect and interior designer Jacque Garcia, the estate is stacked with marble floors, opulent decor, crystal chandeliers, and rich furniture sourced from premiere auction houses.

Alongside Academy Award winners Lady Gaga, Al Pacino, Jared Leto, and Jeremy Irons, is Oscar nominee Adam Driver who plays one of the protagonists of the film, Maurizio Gucci. The last of the Gucci family to lead the eponymous label, he is murdered when his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani (Gaga) hires a hitman to take him out.

While the opportunity to stay for the night would have always attracted art buffs and history addicts, the forthcoming release of House of Gucci and the villa’s appearance will most certainly draw in a considerable crowd of fashion fans.
