Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are back with a new Netflix documentary, and this one is sure to tug at your heartstrings. Heart of Invictus follows Prince Harry as he creates the Invictus Games, a sporting event for wounded, injured, and sick armed forces personnel and veterans.

What Is Heart of Invictus?

Heart of Invictus is a personal and inspiring story of courage, resilience, and the power of sport to change lives, set to premiere on Netflix on August 30. The film follows the stories of several Invictus Games competitors as they train for the 2020 games in The Hague, Netherlands, which was delayed until 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We see the challenges they face as they overcome physical and emotional injuries, and we witness the joy and camaraderie they experience as they compete.

The film is also a moving portrait of Prince Harry’s commitment to the Invictus Games. We see how he is driven by his own experiences in the military, and how he believes that the games can help to give wounded veterans a sense of purpose and belonging.

Who Produced Heart of Invictus?

The highly-anticipated documentary series is produced by Archewell Productions, the production company founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and directed by Orlando von Einsiedel. Von Einsiedel is best known for his work on the documentary films Virunga and The White Helmets. He said that he was drawn to the project because of the “power of sport to heal and transform lives” and that he wanted to “tell the stories of these incredible athletes and their journey to the Invictus Games.”
