The humble one-piece catsuit has come a long way since the 2010’s. The style I’m referring to of course is the leotard-esque ensemble which was reserved for the yoga studio or A-listers on their way to buy an iced oat latte. It received a much-needed recharge this year when Saint Laurent sent a series of skin-tight silhouettes down the Spring/Summer 2022 runway for a take on “neo-sexy”.
It was only a matter of time until the Kendall Jenner’s and Dua Lipa’s of the world began taking cue and in apt timing for party season, supermodel Hailey Bieber has shown us how the catsuit is done.
The 25-year-old attended a Saint Laurent dinner during Art Basel in Miami this week where she opted for the House’s catsuit. It was emblazoned with a floral print (perfect if block color feels too bold for you) and featured a corset-style bodice and halter neck straps. The ensemble was finished with square-toe slingback pumps while the look was slightly pared-down with undone golden locks.
Bieber was in good company too with Saint Laurent sharing a rolodex of candid snaps to Instagram which featured Zoë Kravitz, Gray Sorrenti, Ella Richards, Jacob Bixenman, Christian Coppola, Steve Lacy, Charlotte Lawrence, Thor Shannon, Amber Valletta, Kiki Willems and Mica Argañaraz.

The model is not the only one to revive the catsuit this season. Kim Kardashian appeared as a guest host on Saturday Night Live wearing not one, but two iterations of a long sleeve catsuit. The first featured a crushed velvet that seemingly glimmered in the studio lights while the other was a sleek latex fabrication worn for the afterparty. It was also paired with a huge feathered coat.
