NEW YORK CITY: Fashion month may be over, but Kim Kardashian turned NYC into her own runway ahead of her highly anticipated Saturday Night Live debut. The designer responsible for the iconic looks? No other than Demna Gvasali of Balenciaga, of course.

Gvasali’s looks didn’t just stop at the promos and street style leading up to Kardashian’s big night but made several appearances between her monologue and skits throughout the night.

In the promo ahead of Saturday night’s show, Kardashian mentioned, “Everyone else won’t look as good as me, will they?” to her fellow costars Cecily Strong and Halsey.

“No, absolutely not,” Strong assured her—and she wasn’t wrong. As Kardashian took fearless, albeit comical, shots at her famous family members, it was her head-to-toe pink velvet bodysuit (shaped with no other than SKIMS) that the audience, both IRL and at home, couldn’t get enough of.

Carrying main character energy throughout the segment, Kardashian, 40, opted for a stunning yellow dress (not Balenciaga) that shaped her curves oh-so perfectly in an epic star-studded spoof version of The Bachelorette dubbed “The Dreamy Guy.”

Kardashian, AKA Rochelle (as her character was named), shifted through the mix of handsome A-Listers, including Chris Rock, Jessie Williams, John Cena, Chase Crawford, and Tyler Cameron in an attempt to find her husband.

As the show continues to unfold, Kardashian swaps lives with SNL’s Aidy Bryant in a skit called The Switch. The reality star and makeup mogul gives Bryant a taste of the limelight while donning an elegant shimmery look levelled up with a chunky silver chain necklace and statement-making rings—all while wishing for a “normal boring life”.

Kardashian sparkles in a rhinestone catsuit in a skit that’s reminiscent of her season one Keeping Up With The Kardashian party days. Although the club hits a bit different from the early days, hitting some Z’s rather than the bar, the mother of four looks just as good as the early days bouncing around the NYC club scene.

For her final skit, Kardashian wears a super casual look in comparison to her others. While presenting her latest (fictional?) SKIMS product, she pairs a thin turtleneck with a pair of relaxed fit trousers.

Closing out a humour-filled segment, the catsuit queen wore yet another bodysuit; a sleek spandex that wrapped around her pointy heels. The reality star paired the look with an exaggerated shaggy coat and oversized dazzling earrings.

Kardashian’s mother Kris Jenner took to Instagram with a very “You’re doing amazing, sweetie” type post following the show.

The KKW and SKIMS founder has almost exclusively been wearing the french Maison’s designs since the talented designer dressed her for ex-husbands Kanye West’s DONDA performance. Since then, Kardashian has sported the recognisable designs for some iconic street style moments, and who could forget her Met Gala look?

It seems this love affair between Gvasali and Kardashian is one that will be going on for a while, and honestly, we love it.
