Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated her eldest daughter, Apple Martin’s, milestone birthday with a sentimental post on social media.
Paltrow shared a super sweet Instagram photo of her daughter (whom she shares with her ex-husband Chris Martin) in honor of her big day over the weekend. Paltrow posted a pic of Apple wearing a beautiful white dress with cutout back, gazing in the mirror at her reflection. Paltrow wrote in the caption, “18. I’m a bit of a loss for words this morning (😭). I could not be more proud of the woman you are.”
She continued, “You are everything I could have dreamed of and so much more. Proud doesn’t even cover it, my heart swells with feelings I can’t put in to words. You are deeply extraordinary in every way.”
Recently, Paltrow opened up about the origins of her daughter’s name during an Instagram Q&A, revealing, “Her dad came up with the name, and I fell in love with it. I thought it was so original and cool. I can’t imagine her being called anything else.”
Apple was born in 2004 and has made several social media cameos on her mom’s Instagram account over the years. (Paltrow and Chris also share 16-year-old Moses.)
Last year, Paltrow celebrated National Daughter day with a close-up selfie with Apple and introduced a goop product launch with another selfie of her mini-me.
To mark Apple’s 17th birthday, Paltrow revealed that her and Apple have a “little tradition” of getting a new piercings every year, and she used Apple as inspiration for jewelry at goop.
“I named the pieces after her and her best friends. She’ll definitely be ‘borrowing’ her namesake earrings,” the goop founder said last year.
We’re sure they’ll be carrying on their mother-daughter tradition again this year.
